where is the best place to find disassembly help for my 1936 Win 71.  I have looked around and do not see much about disassembling this gun. I have a sticky chamber and need to clean it. Most info says very hard to reassemble.

On a side note I need a super grade swivel stud, gun is a standard in very nice condition except for the two holes that someone drilled for a super grade sling upgrade. We took one from my friends to check. Any ideas where I can get a original?

I think I remember seeing something about this on Paco Kelly’s Levergun site.  I think it is leverguns.com.  You will probably have to look for it on that site as it has been a long time since I remember seeing it.    What are you planning to do to fix the sticky chamber?

I believe it is just dirty. Fired cases stick for a half a second, everything looks good to the eye, no visible rust. So I just plan on a good cleaning maybe polishing the chamber. I have looked on Paco Kelly’s website before and didn’t see much about the 71 assem/disassem. But I will check again.

Are you sure you need to disassemble it?

I would just use Breakfree CLP and soak the entire metal surfaces inside and out.  Let it soak for a few days and then scrub what you can with a tooth brush. Wipe off all of the excess oil and cycle the gun a few times.  You can also use some Gun Scrubber to spray the interior of the receiver.  This will remove all of the oil and loose crud.  You then need to add oil on the internal moving parts.
