The brl bands on the carbine look like they’ve been buffed; if so, I’d pass unless the price is extremely good.  Also, I think I see the edge of the upper tang; if that’s right & it’s screwed down tight, maybe the stock was sanded.

Tang sight on the rifle adds $150 or more to value.

Well, I pulled the trigger and got the rifle with the tang sight. For a 1906 production, it is in really good condition, I am pleased.
