OfflineI know this question has been answered already. I did a search but didn’t find anything, probably because I didn’t use the correct keywords in my search however…
What is the letterable range for the model ‘94?
Would a trapdoor butt plate (like on the ‘73) be an original, special order option on the model ‘94?

Serial numbers 1 – 353999. The Polishing Room (PR) serial number records for 1 – 1352066 are at the CFM records office, and Pauline Muerrle has the PR records for serial numbers > 1352066.
A Trap Door butt plate was a special order option for the Model 1894 through the early 1930s. I have documented (28) of them in the 354000 – 1079690 serial number range. There was a sizeable batch of them manufactured in 1926 (after the Model 1873 was discontinued in 1923) to use up all of the left over TD crescent butt plates. I have found and documented (10) Model 94 rifles in the 992000 – 995000 serial range with TD butts & plates. I suspect that they were not special ordered, but instead were simply parts clean-up.
