I was by a small out in the hills pawnshop yesterday and saw an old 94 in the corner. I ask about it and was told the owner had passed some time ago and he would take $300 for it since the condition was what it is. He also said he looked up the ser. # and it was from the 50’s. I knew it was older and told him so but still got it for the 3 bills out the door. My limited knowledge of this has me wondering about the rear sight.  What do the experts say? Junk, treasure or just another SRC?  IMG_0469.JPGImage Enlarger

Looks like a 1929 rifle. Does it have the curved carbine butt? Rear sight is not original. Looks like a .22 sight maybe some one here may recognize it. You did okay for the money.

Kind of looks like the basic sporting rear sight Marbles made for awhile.

Bore OK?

The bore looks good to an untrained eye. I’ve never seen a sight like that in my collecting. It does look cheap compared to the leaf or ladder type sights which makes Mike’s “.22 sight”  sound right.

Those sights are on ebay once and awhile.  Good that the bore is good.
