OfflineJust a wild shot but I wonder if anyone might have seen this marking previously.
This is a friend’s Winchester cleaning rod, origin unknown. The rod is 7.5″ long, so halfway between the typical 7″ rifle rod and 8″ carbine rod. The marking seems to be an X over some other mark.
I wondered if it might be a ranch brand or perhaps a military marking from a contract W66 or W73 supplied to a European power.
