I was at a gun show today and jotted down the serial number for a “W” marked ( below the serial number) model 94.  It is serial number 1225016 in 30 WCF.  It seems somebody was interested with including these in a survey??

You’re very welcome.  I can’t remember how detailed of info you want, but it did have a model 55 style serrated steel butt-plate and standard front/rear sights.

Don,

The Model 55 butt plate was standard for the Model 94 from late 1936 – early 1946. If the gun is standard, that is all I need to know. If it has any non-standard features, please let me know what they are.

Bert, I own Model 94 #1242437 “W” marked. It is in 32 Winchester special. The rest of the rifle appears standard.

Not sure if anyone cares or needs this info but I have Model 63 22cal #39002 which is also “W’ marked. Both are 1940 made.

Thanks… one more verified Model 94 for the surveyCool

The Models 97, 12, 94, 61, 62, 63, 64, and 65 can all be found the “W” stamp on them, all made between February 1939 – February 1941.

Bert      Here i found a couple “W” stamped carbines for Your survey #1 ser# 1,227,737 being 1939 vintage as under bbl. stamp. It is a standard equipment 20″ carb. 30 cal. It is British proofed on the frame and the bolt and has on the bbl. “not English made” and has the London armory proofs instead of the Birmingham proofs which is kind of odd plus a lot of other proofs for cordite etc. I don,t know how it got back to Canada. #2 ser#1,233,346  being 1940  as stampe3d. It is a standard 20″ carb. in 30 cal. stamped on the frame O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police).      Henry

Can you tell me which caliber it is, and if it has a Type-6 or a Type-7 upper tang marking?

Bert, #1212791 is 32 W.S. This is my first pre 64 model 94. Not familiar with different tang markings. Mine has “Winchester” with “Trade Mark” under that and “Made in U.S.A.” under that.
