Very nice. Plus, it’s in a chambering other than a .30 WCF.
In my research survey covering all of the Model 1894s manufactured in the May 1907 – December 1931 time period (s/n 354000 – 1079689), I have thus far documented 6,065 Carbines, and of that number, just (18) of them are the Fancy variant (0.25%), and of the (18) just (2) are 25-35 WCFs. Accordingly, they can be classified as “rare”.

Does anyone find the condition suspect if the bore is worn and dark?
No, I do not. It is very common to find the pre-WW I production 25-35 WCFs with poor bores.

Someone likely had the money to buy the fancy carbine but never learned the inside needed to be cleaned and maintained like outside. I once knew a guy that had never cleaned the bores on his rifles in 20+ years of use and hundreds of rounds down those bores, because he was never taught how, but he was sure to wipe down the outside.
