Very nice.  Plus, it’s in a chambering other than a .30 WCF.

The 2500-4000 estimate is laughable……just my opinion

What a gun – that 25% internet fee is scary.

I completely agree… I expect that it will easily triple (or more) the high estimate.

In my research survey covering all of the Model 1894s manufactured in the May 1907 – December 1931 time period (s/n 354000 – 1079689), I have thus far documented 6,065 Carbines, and of that number, just (18) of them are the Fancy variant (0.25%), and of the (18) just (2) are 25-35 WCFs.  Accordingly, they can be classified as “rare”.

Does anyone find the condition suspect if the bore is worn and dark?

No, I do not.  It is very common to find the pre-WW I production 25-35 WCFs with poor bores.

Someone likely had the money to buy the fancy carbine but never learned the inside needed to be cleaned and maintained like outside.  I once knew a guy that had never cleaned the bores on his rifles in 20+ years of use and hundreds of rounds down those bores, because he was never taught how, but he was sure to wipe down the outside.

Got it. Makes sense given that a lot of those 25 cal bores were shot out. I have a couple 25-20’s with shot out bores but they’re still shiny.
