Thanks but I simply cut and pasted it out of my notebook, took all of 5 seconds

I will look around and see if I have an updated version as I swear I have the factory dimensions for the “BL” and BH” hoods also.

My understanding is that this auction consists of one of several auctions from the estate of a Winchester “collector” from Florida who collected Winchesters by volume (~2000) with little regard for quality.  It IS flooding the market with Winchesters, but not necessarily quality ones.
If you do a search of Winchester, 13 pages to search through come up.  Out of that sheer number, I only saw a handful of interest.  Many have been customized, refinished, or “improved”.
  

Roger Q and Bob R, and you are correct… a lot of the Winchesters in that auction are not high quality collectable guns, but there are a few decent guns in the batch.

One of the “turds” is that Model 71 with the Model 1886 33 WIN barrel on it.  Unfortunately, somebody is very likely going to pay stupid money for it before they ask me about it.

You are correct… and Roger was actually convinced it was authentic.  He had that rifle at one of the past Cody Shows, and I tried to tell him it was absolutely bogus, and that I could prove it by verifying the barrel date… strangely, he was unwilling to let me take it apart and show him.

Well given the fact that the high/ low is at $2000 to $3500 it would appear the auction house has similar sentiment despite the story line they are using about it. It would make a fine “shooter” though and if it stays there, which i am in agreement with you that it won’t, I would make a run at it just to be able to prove it is a fake. Would love to see the barrel date too!

It was really great to meet and talk with you (and your son) at the Cody show.  I met and spoke with at least a half dozen WACA forum members at the show, and got the chance to spend a fair amount of time with Lou (and his son).  I am hopeful that many more of our WACA forum members can make it to future shows!
