I am veiwing on line a Mod 94 32-40 ser no 859710 that reportedly has a 26 " tapered octagon barrel. Seller says the width at muzzel is 0.500 inch.
I requested a serial # search but no info is available. As this is my first post I am seeking assistance in determaning if this gun is legit.
I just received photos of this rifle. It does appear to be a rapid taper 26" full mag. Two questions: there are two proof marks on the barrel-one before and one after the caliber and a proof mark on the receiver, also should this ser no range have case colered lever and hammer? Thoughts

2 proof marks on the barrel usually mean a replacement barrel I think. I will let the more informed collectors weigh in on this. In your serial range, this rifle should have the caliber marking on the side flat and, there should be no proof marks located with it. I will post photos of the caliber markings for you to see.
