Not sure if this one has surfaced before, will only post limited info. SN is 817000 and claims to be a 16″ Trapper in 44WCF, even comes with a Madis letter. Picture below is one thing that stopped me in my tracks. Other issue was the end of the mag tube is rough but doesn’t photograph well. Wood is also heavily sanded.

Perhaps “Short Rifle” would be a better description. The magazine tube is held in place by a magazine ring and not the barrel band. I understand that “Trappers” usually refers to short carbines.

Where’s the rest of the info? No way of knowing if this is actually a carbine or a short rifle. If the photo claims this to be a trapper “carbine”, then it’s a .25-20 or .32-20, but definately not a .44-40.
