Serial number 419,874. I was looking for a bargain last night, and thought this could be it. Except I didn’t particularly like the contrast between the barrel and receiver bluing, but might be okay. Then when you look at the las photograph, the interface between the upper part of the stock at the upper tang is poor, previous damage, perhaps some refinishing to the stock and cold blue application. Hardly superb…

Did you actually think that that auction house was different than any other? They are paid to sell the guns, good, bad or indifferent.

What do you expect from the late DG? Sanded stocks and re blued. I have a nice collection, and none came from Don.

I suspected both. Difficult to tell from the photographs, but those were my suspicions.
