Vast majority of sights of all kinds are sold on ebay. One problem with that is that many sellers don’t know correct name or number of sights they’re selling, so a simple search by name or number won’t necessarily bring up that sight–necessary to do a more general & time consuming search. I have the one with the brass blade insert & set screw, if that’s the correct one, but I don’t know the number of it myself.
I can not guarantee that these guys are still in business and if they are that they will have what you need. I need to update my card file.
Gary Fellers 817) 346- 9633. Haven’t seen him for quite a while.
Mike Richard 701) 241-4440
Scott Swamer 920) 733-1408
Let me know if any of these even work.
You need to go to a major collector show near you.
Scott Swamer has been dead for a few years.

I will put in a plug for Mike Richard, dealt with him a few times at Cody and thru snail mail a year or so ago. He was great to deal with, and alive, which was a bonus.

Sorry, I told you my card file was old. There are others out there that are sight dealers. I will have to remember to collect more cards when I go to the major shows. I have a small collection of sights so if I ever need one I might have it. I also have some reproductions I have taken off guns. Haven’t had to look for one in quite some time.
John D, like you I shoot my old Winchesters often and like to have fresh but period correct sights, including tang sights. New sights on old guns look bad so I artificially age my sights to match the patina of the gun. A brass wire brush works wonders. I’ve also put the sights in steel shot for months rolling in the floor of my truck. Other tricks include wrapping new sights in wet clothes for a week or so to get a little rust formed.
I’ve never had any issues with function or accuracy after doing this.

I appreciate the tips, thanks! Even with “antiquing” , a modern squared off Marbles 37M sight wouldn’t look right. A rounded vintage one would, if aged as you described though.
I’ve got my sight problem sorted out, I think. I was able to source a very old looking sight from a local fellow. It is a tad bit taller than the 37M, but the rear site elevator is all the way down so that should not be an issue. It looks good on the rifle, the base is wide enough to look right, and has the right patina.
