It “WAS” a deluxe 94, set triggers, take down, 3-4X wood with a shotgun butt (widows peak) The rifle had 11 extra holes between receiver and tang. The extra holes were kind of plugged but still obvious. Buffing wheel blue job that slightly washed most of the lettering and rounded the sharp edges.(and it shines like a Colt python) The butt stock was slightly shortened (peak is partially visible on heel) and a pachmayr pad installed. The refinish on the wood wasn’t bad IF they had protected the checkering. Whom ever slathered the finish on really muddied the checkering with an overdose of finish. A buddy of mine ended up with it, paid 2k for it. He is a smith and is going to give it a go straightening it out. I can get a few pics of it posted in a day or two.

Wow, seems your buddy really enjoys a challenge. Not going to say anything bad about him, we’re probably related. I’m a sucker for a nice piece of wood.
