I attended the Ohio Gun Collectors Midwestern show in Cleveland last Saturday, which was the first big show for me.  I saw a lot of interesting items and guns, but what I thought most interesting was a model 1892 SRC with a case colored receiver, that letters as such.  The caliber is 44-40, and the letter stated it was shipped in 1895. Sorry, I didn’t catch the serial number. Do you suppose this is a pretty rare gun?

Hello Al,

Yes that rifle was absolutely a rare example.   There were only a few hundred case hardened Model 1892 rifles manufactured.  One is in my closet!  Do you happen to have the sellers/exhibitors contact info????

Hi Michael,

It was a saddle ring carbine, that letters with a case hardened receiver.  The seller/exhibitor was Ron Dickson with National Gun Day Promotions, LLC. [email protected] (513)523-3574.  He had a $15k price tag on it.

Thanks Al,

I will contact him and get some more information so I can add the gun into my survey.
