Friend of mine has a Model 94 in 25-35 manufactured 1910. It has standard “P-W” proof on receiver, then a circled “P” on barrel, then what appears to be a double stamped “P-W” on barrel. It also has two dovetail cuts on bottom of barrel, midways and toward muzzle. Also the small screw hole near muzzle for mag. cap.
Did replacement barrels have two dovetail cuts? My guess is the double stamped “P-W” on barrel was done by whoever installed the barrel. Have not disassembled to see what is under forearm.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Charles
