What is the proper rear sight for a 1904 manufactured 26” round barrel rifle chambered in a 32 W S?

Thank you.

If it’s .32 W. S. with 26″ barrel, it has to be a model 1894.

I’ve always enjoyed the .32 special sight made specifically for the M1894 (rifle only).  I have two .32 special SRC’s thusly equipped but I’m sure there would be controversy as to whether they were shipped that way.  I don’t think anyone would dispute they couldn’t have been special ordered that way, but both carbines are beyond the letterable range.  Back to your rifle, the .32 Special Smokeless rear sight was added to the 1902 catalog.  I’m not saying the regular sporting rear sight from that year wouldn’t be standard, but the .32 special sight would also be appropriate.  I think they are very cool.

Here’s an example:

Here’s a couple nicer examples:

By the way, I suppose there will be egg on our faces if he happens to have a M1885 (single-shot) in .32 WS Embarassed

Odds are very much against that of course.

The exact same question was asked on 2 successive days.  The other thread is :  https://winchestercollector.org/forum/winchester-sights/32-w-s-sight/#p71594
