How many set triggers were built for the 1876 Winchester rifle.
In George Madis’s, The Winchester Handbook, he says there were 4562 built.
I know sometimes his figures are wrong.
Me and a friend each bought a 1876 with a single set trigger, both rifles build in 1885, both are 40-60, 28 in octagon barrels.
Both rifles were bought from different sellers.
Both set triggers work.
I just wonder how many are out there.
thanks
Bill
From my survey of 73’s, 21% of them had set triggers. Set triggers was the most common option on the 73.
