I just got this gun last weekend, I had to locate a vintage scope for it and came up with this Lyman Alaskan 2 1/2 power scope and a Stith mount. Everything is nearly mint, making it a truly nice package…

Nothing like a pre war 70

 Hi Shrapnel-

Only comment I’d make is that if it were mine I’d lose the Cobra sling (too John Travolta/Disco for my taste) and find a 40’s or 50’s M1907 or Whelan style sling (if not an original Winchester).  Guess I’m just a traditionalist.

Sorry, but the Cobra sling stays. It is more better on the shoulder and for shooting offhand, it beats the narrow strap all to pieces…
