Hi to all I’m new posting here but have been lurking around this board for awhile, I have been collecting mod 70’s and other Winchesters for about 30yrs and also have a soft spot for small bore sxs’s, The question I would like to ask is I have a model 70 .220 super grade that I have to cull to get a pre war 70 375 Super that I have had my eye on for yrs and the guy said he would finally sell it. Now the problem, the .220 is all original and does not have any alterations ,repairs or refinishing work done to it but it is not in the greatest shape , the previous owner had put is away wet at some time and some rust freckling on the barrel and the stock has its share of scratches through the varnish , the bore is like new ,not shot a lot ,no throat erosion, I know the guns is kind of rare but I need as much money as I can get out of it to get the .375 so here the dilemma should I take it apart and sell the stock ,action and floorplate or sell it as is, I kind of hate to take it apart but .375’s pre war super grade guns do not come my way often and with a price that’s not out of sight. So when is it as they say “worth more in parts” Any input would be appreciated , John I would post photo’s of it if I could figure out how.
Don’t know if you received my PM.
If you could, I would like photos sent to my e-mail.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Gregory
