1950 SN gun in good working condition. Part of the 20 guns dad left behind and I have no idea how to figure out what to sell it for. My neighbor who just wants a .30.06 offered me $300. The problem is that I have been looking everywhere and the cheapest one uI have found is $599 with a crack in the Tang. I am not looking to make a fortune off the gun, just want to sell it at a reasonable price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Colette

Hi Collette-
Hard to say without some idea of originality/condition. A pre-64 M70 Standard Rifle in 30-60 is by far the most common configuration/chambering. It can be anywhere from a $500 “parts gun” to maybe about $1250 for a 98% example with all original sights and finishes intact. Any refinishing (blue or wood), added recoil pads, extra holes drilled in receiver or barrel, heavy carry wear, etc. will push the value down a quickly.
FWIW…If there are no added holes in the receiver and no rust the action alone is worth maybe $650.
Best,
Lou
