Can someone give me a ballpark value of a pencil barrel winchester 1894, all original, overal about 60%. Let’s say an original standard winchester[60%,all original] was listed at $1400.If that same gun had a round pencil barrel;how much value would be added? Haven’t seen enough pencil barreled guns to get a feel for prices. thanks, doug

Can’t really give you a value but a octagon barrel is worth more than the round barrel.

Bob

edit: Misunderstood your question, I thought you were comparing a octagon pencil barrel to a round pencil barrel.

Doug,

The Extra Lightweight (ELW) variation were all made with a “pencil” barrel, and accordingly they are listed separately in the Red Book of Winchester values. The “pencil” barrel is what defined the ELW variation of the Model 1894. In the Red Book, it is a $300 difference for the ELW versus a standard Sporting Rifle, 30 WCF, round barrel, in 60% graded condition.
