In your opinion, does the bluing on this model 1894 look original?  Received and shipped from the warehouse in September 1902, according to the Winchester letter.

Thanks,

The pictures are too dark… better lighting is needed.

Does the wood look to be sightly sanded/refinished to anyone?

Blue looks original as best can be told by pictures. Wood may have finish added, it fits too well to be fully refinished. All based on internet pictures. High definition pictures or hands on inspection to be sure of originality.

Hi Al. I blew up the pictures and added light to them. Sure looks original to me with the exception that the wood might have had finish added at one time or it was waxed before photos were taken. Nice looking rifle. Peter

Wood does look very good, very attractive rifle.

Hi again Al, I looked at the new and the old pictures and just have a small concern. Please remember that I concern easily. When one opens the picture, you can click on it and it enlarges. I noticed that on the rt side of the receiver there is very good bluing at the very rear, like 1″ of the receiver and the rest is faded/browned or something. On the left side there is some pretty nice bluing under the rear screws, and then the rest is faded/browned clear into the TD ring. It also looks like scratches  or something visible in the left side of the receiver. They don’t look like striations. Lighting/pictures show things up sometimes. Maybe just me . You have returns if you do not like it? Peter

I do not see anything that concerns me about the finish or the stocks.
