not sure how common a 20 inch octagon barreled 94 is buy I thought it was pretty cool

Thats not a carbine, its a short barrel rifle. The ARMAX article shows 2980 20″ rifles. I assume that number is both round and octagon rifles.

Thanks for the clarification, and I learned something. Still doesn’t seem like a common configuration, can’t decide if I like it or not. I like the look of the longer octagon, and shorter round barrels,the shorter octagon seems to just throw my eye off?

Interesting Gun, but the Ad doesn’t mention a Cody Letter and is the Fore-end the correct length for a Short Rifle ?
Mr. Rennebergs’ 94 book references different Fore-end lengths for Rifles shorter than standard.
Could it be a cut-down standard Rifle ?

The serial number is too high for a Cody letter. Forearm length looks about right but I don’t like the difference in wood color and finish.

The forend on 20-inch short rifles could be standard or short. This one appears to be standard.

If thats a 20″ barrel I measure the forearm at about 8 1/2″
