I am not a gun person but I figured this would be a great site to learn more about a rifle that I have. I am hoping by joining this site someone could help me determine what to do with this rifle. I have an 284 Winchester that I know was bought new and has only been fired three times. I know this cause I am 55 years old and fired it once when I was 10 years old and my dad who purchased the gun new fired it twice. It has been sitting in a case in the closet for all these years. I do not know what to do with it, can any one give me advise?.
Thank you
Mike

Mike, “.284” is a cartridge, not a model. If the gun is a lever-action, it’s a Model 88, & they are still quite popular. Take a look at Model 88 listings on the Gun Broker website, & you will see what they’re currently selling for. If you no longer wish to keep it, it shouldn’t be hard to sell.
