While I was escaping the cold weather in Montana, I hit all the collectors shows I could find. I went to Las Vegas in January and Durant, Oklahoma in February and got a couple nice Model 1894’s in 25-35 and 32-40 in takedown configurations. I shot them both and they shoot great. I did even shoot a gopher yesterday with the 32-40…

The lever and hammer on the .32-40 appear to be case coloured. By 1918, weren’t theee blued?

Not necessarily. I have found Winchesters with cased levers. hammers, and breech blocks as late as 1919.
