I bought this today in what I consider “The Raw” This came from a gentleman who inherited it from his Grandfather whom he never met. I followed him in the gun show today and I couldn’t focus till I had it in my hands. Serial # 44590, octagon barrel 40-82 with 14 shells, I gave him 1400$ bones I’m sure I overpayed. But I never get chances at these things and I have yet to buy something off the internet. I’m gonna have to learn how. bore appears to be pretty pitted but when I can get home this week I will clean it and look again. I’m super stoked and will accept all criticisms, but they will not deter my excitement for this piece. Pictures below are the beat I have right now.

It looks OK to me ans 1400 does not seem out of line in my opinion.
THIS ALL STARTED WITH JUST ONE GUN!
Octagon barrel with full mag & crescent butt is desirable, as well as being an 86. DOM 1890. If the bore & rifling are good then 1400 bones imo is a good deal.
If you want an educated or expert opinion on value, Bert & some others on here can advise but as far as the acquisition, Congrats.
