Time to pick Bert’s brain a little more, as I assume he has so much spare time.
A chart in one of Campbell’s books lists the 28″ long # 1 barrel size as tapering from .94″ at the receiver to .70″ at the muzzle. The OB on my .32 WCF High Wall (1889) measures .88″ and .73″ on its 28″ barrel, which has a number 1 stamp on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the forearm. My idle curiosity wonders if that much variation was usual for that time period ?
Thanks for putting up with my questions.

First, I never get bored with Model 1885 questions. I have been shooting, collecting, and studying them for more than 40-yers now, and I still like doing it!
I have not looked at Campbell’s books in many years now… but are you sure about the dimensions he listed for a No. 1 barrel ? I have it noted in my barrel size chart table (one that I created from my own notes) as being .90″ nominal at the frame ring, tapering to .74″ nominal at 28-inches. The measurements on your barrel are in the correct +/- tolerance to my table.
