I received today a mod 94 30-30 lone star. It was told to me that the man that owned the rifle worked at Winchester and built this rifle as his last build. It looks different than those I can find on line. It has beautiful burled wood, gold hammer, gold lever, gold rear and front bands, and a gold mag plug. I tried looking up the S/N 3708290 with no success. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for your help from a Ruger guy. Russ
Okay I gather this is the Lone Star commemorative You are talking about and if so; the rifle is 26″ 1/2 oct bbl. with 4 shot mag. the butt plate, stock medallion, r’cvr, lever and forearm cap is gold plate, not the hammer or trigger it also has a blued saddle ring the carbine is a 20″, 1/2 oct.bbl. with full mag ,rifle forearm cap in gold plate as is the rc’cvr, lever, butt plate and stock medallion. A total of 38385 were produced in 1970 in 30-30 cal. I have had many commemoratives over the years, many of them with the similar story of being built by or for someone at Winchester, don’t believe it unless You see the paperwork or other bonafide verification. P.S. oh yea the ser# starts with prefix LS

Hi Henry, your close but not exactly what I have. It does have the gold medallion, the barrel is 20″, from the hammer to barrel tip is only 24″, Butt plate is not gold plate it is plastic with checkering, the hammer is plated gold, S/N does not have the LS prefix . If there is a way to send you a picture I would be glad to. Russ
