Hello,
I’m trying to identify (and value if possible) a Model 94 30-30 which I inherited from my father-in-law. It was a commemorative version given to him by the railway here in Canada for which he was an engineer for many years. (He did the surveys and planned where railways would go.)
The serial number is 5 digits starting with the letters “GS”.
Any suggestions on how I might find more information on this gun?
Thank you.

Winchester made the commemorative rifles withe the GS standing for Golden Spike in 1969. An internet search such as Gun Broker will give you ideas of value. It to new to be of high interest on this sight. Would love to see pictures to see if I am correct.

The 1969 Golden Spike Commemorative would bring about $1000 down here in the States – if it is new and unused in the box. With nearly all commemoratives, the value is only retained if they are unused and have the original box. If they’ve been used at all, the value drops a lot.
