Bert. I was on Gunbroker looking at 1892 Winchesters. I saw one that was almost too good to be true. Seller says it has been in same family since almost new. This is a takedown octagon barrel SN 457724. The seller took 212 pictures. The tang is stamped Model 1892 and the barrel is stamped Model 92. Would Winchester Use 2 different stampings? Don

The barrel is not original to the rest of the rifle.
