I have several model 70’s that are the classic models. They are post 64, but both have the controlled feed and claw extractor. One is a 270. It is a super grade and was made around 1989-1990. The other is a 7mm-08, feather wt and was made later than the 270. I am having a problem with the 270 completely removing and ejecting empty ammo, especially if one works the bolt slowly. It removes the empty from the chamber ok, but drops it rather quickly. If one works the bolt quickly, it doesn’t seem to have a problem. Any suggestions with that problem? The 7mm-08 (actually both of them) came with the hard, Winchester, red rubber pad. I have put a cushier butt pad on the 270 and would like to have one for the 7mm-08 as well. Winchester still makes the feather wt, and it looks a lot like mine. Just wondering if the butt pad on the new model would fit my older gun?? Maybe suggestions as to the best butt pad for this rifle also. Thanks in advance. Peter
