Winchester takedown model 55 with Lyman 6 rear sight. Serial number 9576 with a manufacture date 1928. The dealer said it was a family gun and his dad had bought it new at a Show room. He said his dad took many deer with the rifle, and kept the family feed. The rifle shows evidence of having a tang sight at one time or another. Has evidence of being used as hunting rifle, as the wood has battle scars from being used in the field. The Lyman 6 sight support my theory of having a tang sight at some time. Being a 30 WCF makes it a go to deer hunting gun, looking forward to my own hunting stories to add to this rifle’s story.
