I have acquired thru an auction a Model 53-44 40 in good shape with little wear and good blueing. The production number is 458.

I am not a collector and would like to sell it. I am in a southern state and am able to have a FFL shipper send it.

Any ideas on the best process to do this.

Your Model 53 was serialized on August 20, 1924 and is a first-year rifle. I would be interested in your rifle, except I live in Canada and the exchange rate is not so great right now. I would suggest you take some clear photos, including some close ups of the various parts of the rifle, both sides, and post it for sale in the ‘Winchester Swap Meet’ forum in this group. I can’t really tell you any value without seeing photos, especially close-up photos of the receiver and the wood-receiver interfaces, and the printing on the barrel.

This is the kind of thing I am usually interested in, but like 38-55 says, love to see some detailed pictures. PM me if you want to discuss further.

Cheers,
