Hello, my name is Adam I’m new here I have a question maybe someone can help with. I have a model 43 22 Hornet serial number 13046. Would like to know year of gun if anyone can help thanks. Sights have been bored.

Hello Adam,
Your Model 43 rifle was manufactured in June 1949. It was sold in the Reata Pass auction in January 2016. When I viewed it, the barrel had been shortened 3-inches (21-inches versus 24-inches).

Thank you so much for the info, Any ideal on the value of the gun. I looked at that auction and That’s not the same barrel that is on it now it is a 24 inch barrel now

The fact that it no longer has its original barrel (somebody replaced the cut down barrel) means that it is not factory original. Therefore, the value in the rifle is as a “shooter”. If it shoots accurately, it should be worth at least $450.

Once again thank you for your help. If you have time. I have two more guns I’d like to get your opinion on once I have them I’ll get you info. There both Winchester Model 9422 long rifle and one is a magnum.
