I have a Model 1894 that was manufactured in 1900. It has an octagon barrel and is chambered in 25-35. The barrel is 24” from the tip of the barrel to the receiver, and approximately 25” from the tip to where the barrel threads would end. My question is, was this barrel configuration ever manufactured, or is it likely that this barrel has been cut down?
Thank you in advance.

It’s 197xxx, I don’t have the gun in hand to remember the last 3.
Thank you
That makes it a 1903 (October) production rifle. Can you send me pictures showing the muzzle, front sight location, and the magazine retaining ring location ?

On average, what percentage does a cut barrel devalue the rifle?
I was going to say, “plenty” but then I recalled that it seems in the minds of many sellers, “not at all.”

Just another reason I carry a very small tape measure along with a bore light when I look at old Winchesters. You can fool my eyes but you can’t fool my tape measure!
