This is definitely a nice 1924 (SNA date) looking rifle but the tang stamp did not come int ouse on the 92’s until mid 1928???

OfflineLetters aren’t available for that late, but my guess is this carbine wasn’t assembled and shipped until mid 1928 or later, at which time the upper tang markings were applied.
This is the only logical explanation, but can be easily refuted if the upper tang markings were applied when the serial number was applied.
Does anyone know if the serial number application was just that, or if it included upper tang markings as well?
