It was shipped in 1906 with Lyman sights front bead, folding rear and tang , letters with the sights. The 38-56 is a necked down 45-70. The available factory serial number records show 19,457 made in this caliber. One of the least popular with collectors today, but carbines in this model are the scarcest , with 6223 total listed and 22” being standard, there are around 113 20” listed and that would be both carbine and rifle. There are some serial numbers Missing, so numbers could be a little higher.
