Model 1886 45-90 WCF 26' heavy barrel|Winchester Rifles|Forum|Winchester Collector

I have a Model 1886 45-90 WCF 26′ heavy barrel with a production date of 1888 and I looking for information about the rifle. I have Cody Firearms Museum sending me a letter about my specific serial number. Is there any other information that you guys might have to authenticate the rifle. 

The rifle is in great shape except that my grand father removed the bluing and varnish(made my father angry). So to preserve the rifle he had the stock revarnished and barrel reblued.  

Any info or help would be much appreciated.
