I have an opportunity to buy an 1876 Carbine.  Approximately how many of these were made and how desirable are they?  This is a later made rifle in about 80 per cent condition?  I am familiar with the rifles, but not the carbines   Thank you!

According to Herbert Houze book Winchester made 9,623 1876 carbines, 24 in 50/95, 6,814 in 45/75, 2,497 in 45/60, and 288 40/60. The Winchester Model 1876 “Centennial” Rifle book by Houze gives the best brake down all the features and rarity. A North west Mounted Police carbine will command a premium if listed and marked. The best book on those is Lewis Yearout’s book, Winchester’s North West Mounted Police Carbines. T/R
