Welcome from Sweden Ronnie,

We can see by looking here on the WACA forum, under the resources tab at the top of the page, and then clicking on, “When was you’re Winchester made”, that you’re M-1876 rifle was mfg. in 1885.

If you can post some pictures here, it would help us help you, to determine more about you’re rifle.

Here’s some information on posting pictures.

A Texas welcome to you Ronnie, have you gotten a factory config letter from the Cody Firearms Museum yet? I’d do that as well so we can compare its current configuration to how it left the factory.
