I have a model 1873 with a 30 inch barrel and a set trigger, I got the cody museum letter, and it is still exactly as ordered, my question is there any more info that can be had than what the original letter says? It also went in and out of the warehouse on same day, does mean it was a special order?   terry

No, there isn’t… unless you can trace it back through all of its previous owners.

An 1873 with a 30″ barrel was a special order.  We don’t know if that order was placed by a specific individual or something like a hardware store.

Terry,

If the gun shipped the same day or the next it usually indicates a special order gun. I’m doing a survey of the 73’s and if you supply me with the serial number and configuration I would like to add it or it might already be in it.
