Hello

I own a Winchester model 100 in 308 cal. The serial number doesn’t come up when I enter it on the Winchester site. Wondering if anyone knows why this is . The rifle is in great shape with just some wear on the stock. It has a 4 power Weaver scope with flip over mounts. Not interested in selling it just looking for some background and info on my rifle. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello Peter,

When you say “Winchester site” exactly which website are you referring to? What is the serial number on your Model 100?

Hello Bert

with more searching I found old guns.net and it tells me my rifle was built in 1965. My serial # is 124006. I was hoping to find out more info about it however the date of manufacturer is a start.

 There was a recall on the Winchester Model 100 to have the firing pin replaced.If you plan on shooting your rifle ,you should check to see if the firing pin has been replaced.
