The condition of the rifle good and the price was very fair, When you see markings on the rifle to enhance the story of the gun I am suspicious.  This appeared to be what they claim it to be.

The markings did not increase value but made it desirable to someone in the local region.

Floyd,

Anytime you have aftermarket marking on a gun it will hurt it value. The most common are ranch brands which do bring extra money if they can be proven real. Can you post pictures of them?
