Here is a very high condition 1895 carbine.  We often see presentation engraving that is aftermarket -ndone by a jeweler, etc.  Sometimes it is of very high quality and sometimes not.  Here, we have real Winchester engraving with the provenance.  It is a very very late carbine.  

Would you like the carbine better without the engraving?

No engraving here.  Factory inscription yes, with provenance, does add value.

Very high condition gun with an inscription that may add value for a bidder who appreciates Winchester company history. I found the closing sentence of the description amusing.

LOL – perhaps a more experienced writer would have seen more carbines with this inscription Laugh

I know some collectors dislike having names scrawled on their rifles.  The Winchester history here is a positive for many.
