My great grandfather bought it new. I got to use it on caribou a couple decades ago. The manufacture date in the books doesn’t line up with when he would have bought it. 24″ Stainless barrel. #422429.

Winchester introduced Stainless Steel barrels in the year 1926.  Model 95 s/n 422429 went through the Polishing Room in April 1926.  Have you looked at the barrel date?

No, unfortunately there is not.  The only records that survive for the later production Model 95 is the Polishing Room records.  Take a look at the barrel date… my bet is that it is “26”.
