Anybody ever have a 73 rifle where the lever won’t close the last 3/8″? When I get to the last little bit it just goes to a bind as if it were already closed. The action is smooth, everything seems to function fine. I have the lever latch thumbscrew all the way out and it barely catches the lever if I compress. Pulled off the side plates and everything looks fine. Any thoughts?
Tony,
What your saying the action is not fully closing when this happens. The most common problem I have run into is a bent lever. The action is fully closed but the lever is NOT against the tang.

Remove the toggles and check the it again. If the lever works fine then, the problem lies with the bolt. If it does not come up to the tang and the elevator is flush with the bottom of the receiver you have a bent lever.
