Maybe if You post some good clear, close-up pics on this site the fellas here can usually do a pretty good job of verifying the configuration of a Winchester. I’m sure You would get some good honest opinions of Your gun, originality or suspect.

I am positive it’s not right, wanted a letter to confirm the way it left the factory to put it back to that for my winter project, thanks

Agreed. Restore it to the configuration you want, will have little effect on the collector value. Make it something you’ll enjoy. Please post pics of your project, some of us find them interesting and even inspirational.
