Does the buttstock of this 1886 deluxe look like a factory option for a shotgun buttplate?
To my eyes the buttstock seems a bit short, but I’ve never handled one before, so I don’t know what is actually standard (photos are from GB seller, here’s the listing).
Is there a link you forgot to add?

I measured one of mine with a crescent butt and it was longer.

I think I just realized why it looks wrong to my eyes: it’s actually a deluxe extra lightweight takedown… you can see the TD joint clearly in the 8th photo. The rifle and buttstock have same overall profile as this one that sold for a bajillion dollars.
Seems like Bubba had some issues with placing the rear sling swivel, the 16th photo shows some round dark spots that the seller said look to be plugged holes.
Otherwise, seems like a neat little honest rifle.

Custom, aftermarket, non-factory original are all descriptive of the checkering on the butt stock.I believe that the LOP on the Extra Lightweight Model 1886 rifles is shorter than the standard rifles.

I’ll add “unique” to the list of descriptors. I like it, but…..
