I want to remake a rifle like Jack O’Connor’s rifle. I’m going to buy a 270 pre 64 featherweight. Then find some one that can make the custom stock he had made. Who can make the stock?

Any custom stocker can do this. The ones I once knew are all dead or retired, but there’s a list of active builders in the back of Gun Digest, & maybe other places. Or maybe a better place to look would be the ads in Double Gun Journal & The Rifle. Expect to pay $3000 & up & wait maybe 2 yrs.
O’Conner was my boyhood hero, though I’m no fan of the FW; but then he hunted at high elevations where every ounce mattered.
