The finish looks original to me, and I really like the extra nice walnut stocks on it.

The 63′ and the 61′ both look to have been redone. The forearm on the 63′ is probably original but the stock is not. The horizontal buff marks on the receiver show that it has been reblued so the stock was probably new at the same time. The 61′ looks nice but two lines on the checkering have a mullered border which I have not seen on a Winchester. The polish on the engraved 61′ along with the depth of the engraving does not look correct either.

Model 61 has definitely been refinished. In my opinion the checkering and engraving are not original.
